The Script: Science & Faith

Seeing The Script live at Wembley was one of most surreal events I have ever attended. The Irish band was overcome by the eleven thousand in the audience. The band played a mixture of their current album, Science & Faith and their debut album The Script.
The Script was supported by the up and coming solo artist Clare Maguire. Maguire delivered a very powerful performance of ‘The Last Dance’, with stunning vocals. However with an audience hungry for Irish melodies, they did not appreciate Charlotte Church style ballads.
When The Script finally came on stage the audience transformed, with young girls dancing and screaming. Even the older generations let themselves go! The atmosphere was sublime; Danny O’Donoghue the lead singer was encouraging us to sing along with some of the most famous releases such as ‘For the First Time’ and the finale ‘Breakeven’.
The most memorable part of the evening without doubt was after a spectacular performance of ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ the audience continued to cheer minutes after the song ended. O’Donoghue stopped and took off his ear piece overwhelmed by the thousands of fans screaming for him. When the moment was over O’Donoghue said graciously ‘Wembley I’m taking that moment to the grave’.
Throughout the performance the group repeated the fact they were just a small band from Dublin. They appeared genuinely swept away by such a large crowd. It seemed that The Script finally realised they had made it in the music industry; poetically all their dreams have come true.
